PC Helps' Focus Flex Learning Support Program

June 26th, 2009

The PC Helps’ Focus Flex Learning Support Program delivers maximum ROI on training investments by providing a solution focused on the specific end-user’s needs, and is flexible enough to fit into their daily schedules. The best components of instructor-led and computer-based training are now combined with support from U.S.-based, live, on-demand learning experts, who are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to handle your immediate needs.

We have an array of options, among them:

On-Demand Learning & Instructor-Led Training

Live, U.S.-based experts available 24/7/365

  • Standard Productivity Classes: These cover productivity-enhancing features of common software applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint, and BlackBerry handheld devices. Classes are 30 to 45 minutes in length. Live instructor via web, live Q&A.
  • Migration Assurance Classes: These classes cover the key knowledge needed to prevent disruption and maintain productivity when migrating to Windows Vista and/or Office 2007.
  • Custom Content Classes: Unique needs require unique responses. Classes using the general structure of our Standard Productivity and Migration Assurance classes can be developed to address specific needs in content, length and scheduling.

Anytime Training

  • Custom Recorded Presentations (CRP): These presentations are completely flexible, as they are viewable and reviewable at any time. But they surpass standard Computer Based Training (CBT) in two important ways: they are customized, and they are enhanced by support from our subject matter experts, who can answer questions and ensure understanding through on-demand training. Our experts pick up the phone within two rings, and are available on a “pay only for what you use” basis. They can instruct on how the software works, and also explain how it can be applied to the learner’s job. Plus, our experts go one step further by identifying other valuable productivity-building skills that may be useful to the learner.
  • Reach-to-Teach (Tutor) Service: Our Reach-to-Teach service is specifically designed to work with our Custom Recorded Presentations, but will complement any training program. The participant simply notifies PCH that he has completed a training module, and our “Reachers” call to ask if he has any follow-up questions. If additional help is needed, he is referred immediately (or when it’s convenient) to a “Teacher” (one of our subject matter experts). The reach portion of the service is billed as a quarterly per-user charge. Teacher time is billed on a “pay only for what you use” basis. Reach-to-Teach insures that the questions the learner “meant to ask” are asked, and answered.

Self-Directed Training

  • The Learning Portal: The PCH Portal offers audio and visual demonstrations of thousands of skills in dozens of software applications. Learners can search in various ways and store the most helpful demonstrations for later review in either text or link form. You can enhance the portal’s effectiveness by having your own local gurus in various business departments designate groups of demonstrations that are relevant to people in their unit. The portal is multilingual and currently available in more than 12 languages.

New Hire Training

  • One to two classes, covering information vital to every new hire, such as navigating file folders in Windows Vista, avoiding “mailbox full” errors in Outlook and learning e-mail ethics/etiquette. PC Helps can develop additional classes to cover specific applications, and would offer them to workers whose job functions make the knowledge beneficial. PCH works with its clients to determine and address the specific needs of the workforce. Once the Custom Content Classes have been developed in cooperation with client and tested with sample groups, they are recorded for unlimited, licensed reuse. Some modules may also address needs of existing staff and would be available to them as well. Subject Matter Expert follow-up would be available on-demand and through Reach-to-Teach to insure that the content is put to work effectively.

Identifiable Group Training

  • Some training needs are specific to particular functional areas. Classes, similar to those developed for new-hire training, will be developed to meet these needs. For example, a typical approach would be Excel training focused on the needs of the accounts receivable department. As with all PC Helps training, on-demand support is available afterwards to ensure the anticipated ROI is achieved.

On-Site Availability

  • On-site expertise available monthly or quarterly to provide direct, live scheduled and/or on-demand training sessions.
